Selective Separation of Chalcopyrite from Galena Using a Green Reagent Scheme

The study of the depression effect non-toxic depressants on flotation separation chalcopyrite from galena is great importance for both industrial applications and theoretical research. mixed depressant (DFinal) four common inhibitors—sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, sodium silicate, sulfite, zinc sulfate—exhibited high selectivity during galena. Flotation tests an copper–lead bulk concentrate showed that using this mixture can achieve highly efficient at natural pH pulp. Copper lead concentrates were produced grades 21.88% (Cu) 75.53% (Pb), with recoveries 89.07% 98.26% (Pb). This a similar performance DFinal dichromate, which widely used in industry, but without environmental risks or need control. Zeta potential Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) results interaction between surface was prevented by pre-treatment composite thiophosphate collector (CSU11), while could expel/replace chemical adsorption, depressing its flotation. reason why achieved selective chalcopyrite, leading to separation.
